How a mini split works

A mini split is an appealing alternative to a window unit or a through-the-wall unit for one space, or to central air. An indoor unit that houses the blower, usually mounted 7.5 to 8.5 feet above the floor, is piped to a condensing unit outside. Configurations vary, from one to eight indoor units per outdoor unit.

Why people choose them

Mini splits are far more energy efficient than central systems. Their efficiency ratings are significantly higher, and they avoid duct loss, a serious energy drain for central systems. They come in a range of sizes and configurations, and one of Gilley’s Whole House experts will help you decide whether one is right for you.
