Air conditioning systems

Capacity and efficiency are the two things that matter most. Gilley’s starts with your comfort goals.

Sized for this climate

A system that is too small cannot hold the temperature you want. A system that is too large costs more to buy and to run, and is less comfortable than one sized properly.

The industry standard for the Monroe and West Monroe climate is to hold 75 degrees inside when it is 100 degrees outside. Your own preference may differ. An air conditioner does that by removing heat, measured in BTUs, from the air: units run from 1.5 tons, which remove about 18,000 BTUs an hour, to 5 tons, about 60,000 BTUs an hour.

Efficiency

Every unit carries two efficiency ratings, SEER (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) and EER (energy efficiency ratio). Like miles per gallon, higher means less energy used. Because the summers here put a serious strain on a system and on the power bill, Gilley’s recommends at least SEER 16 and EER 14, and there are usually incentives to help you get there. Gilley’s will lay out a range of options so you can make an informed decision.

We recently installed a whole new air conditioner in our home. From the first phone call to inquire about their services, they were extremely friendly and professional. They came to our home and gave us quotes and options. We never felt like we were being pressured to buy something we did not need. The installation went smooth. The technicians were top notch and professional. They did the whole thing in a day. I can not say enough good things about our experience with them. I would highly recommend!
